About the event

  • You are required to make a video review of an automobile or a component or a technology for a maximum time period of five minutes
  • Your video will be uploaded in IGTV.
  • Based on the Instagram response (50%) and critical evaluation by judges (50%), 10 best videos will be selected
  • Selected videos will be posted in our YouTube channel for critical review by viewers. Videos with plagiarism and wrong information will be discarded if allegations are proven.
  • Scores for like and share in the YouTube channel will added to the above score to select the top 3 positions

Rules and Regulations

  1. All entries must be a digital video of full HD resolution (1920 X 1080) preferably in horizontal orientation.
  2. Each entry must focus on any one topic related to AUTOMOBILE: For example
    1. Review of a car/bike of your choice
    2. Review the working of a component
    3. Review of a technology
  3. Participants can submit the entries groups or as individuals.
  4. The length of the video should not exceed five minutes, including the 10 second title screen (see clause ‘e’) in the beginning and 5 second cast and crew list at the end.

Prize

  • Top three entries will receive a prize money of Rs. 20, 000. Prize distribution is as follows.

    1. st Prize: Rs.10, 000
    2. nd Prize: Rs. 6,000
    3. rd Prize: Rs. 4,000

  • Event will be cancelled if the entries are less than 25 in number
  • If total numbers of entries is less than 50 prize money distribution is limited as Rs. 12,000 with first prize as Rs.8000 and second prize as Rs. 4000
  • e-Certificates will be provided to all finalist team members
  • Cash price will be transferred to Team Leads A/C via phone pay/google pay within 7 working days

  2. Uploading
    • Once the payment is done, you can proceed with Registration through the link below
    • After submitting the registration form, you will get a link to upload the video file in the registered mail id
    • Competition video will be uploaded in IGTV and link will be shared

Evaluation Criteria

  1. Initial Round
    • 50 Marks will be given to the Instagram likes and share with equal weightage. Video with maximum like and share will be given 50 Marks.
    • Other videos will be graded relatively. Auto-likes and shares will result in your direct termination from the competition
    • 30 Marks will be given for the automotive technical content of the review. False information can result in negative marking
    • 20 Marks for your skills in videography, editing and sound clarity

  2. Final Round
    • Based on the evaluation, top 10 teams qualify for final round
    • These 10 videos will be uploaded in our YouTube channel in which viewers can critically review the work. People can point out flaws in the video, plagiarism or copy right issues if any. If found guilty, your video will be removed from TOP 10 list.
    • Also, you will be asked to submit the references for your video upon selection into TOP 10 list
    • People can like and share your video in YouTube channel and a maximum bonus score of 20 marks will be added to previous grading to select the winners

Rules and Regulations

  5. All entries should begin with a 10 second full-screen “title screen” that includes the following information:
    1. Team leaders name
    2. Title of video
    3. Total running time (EXCLUDING the 10 second title screen)
  6. All information presented in the video must be cited, giving credit to the original source. Plagiarism of any kind will result in disqualification. You NEED NOT include your citations in your video. IF CHOSEN AS A FINALIST, you must submit a list of your sources, properly cited.
  7. Script of the video should be submitted (If asked)
  8. Each video must have one team leader to serve as the main point of contact. Prize money will be given to the team lead. Online certificate of recognition will be given to all those listed as on the entry form, if chosen as finalist.
  9. There will be a registration fee of Rs. 200 per entry, details of payment in main section #5 of rule book
  10. No copyrighted materials (music, images, etc.) may be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the material for this contest. Written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyrighted materials.
  11. Declaration form must be submitted when you upload your video.
  12. Content must comply with all local and national laws of our Country.
  13. Content must not
    1. promote illegal behaviour;
    2. support racial, religious, sexual or other invidious prejudice;
    3. violate rights established by law or agreement;
    4. invade the privacy of any person; or
    5. be otherwise inappropriate as determined by Automobile Association of Amal Jyothi (AAA) and Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally,- India, in its sole and conclusive determination.
  14. Decision of the judges will be final. Detailed scores will be published in our website as we announce finalist. You can review the judgment, but final decision will be taken by the expert panel of Automobile Association of AmalJyothi(AAA) and Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally, India.
  15. The only compensation for submitting a video is the opportunity to be awarded a prize if the entry wins. Automobile Association of AmalJyothi(AAA) and Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally-India , will pay filmmakers no additional compensation nor be liable to the filmmaker under any circumstances.
  16. Participants may submit as many videos entries as they wish. However, only one first place prize will be awarded per team, and no team may receive more than one award.
  17. The medium of instruction used can be Malayalam, English or Hindi. If entries are not in English, include English subtitles.
  18. Participants should keep at least one copy of their video. Automobile Association of AmalJyothi(AAA) and Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering,Kanjirappally-India is not responsible for any films that are lost, damaged, or not uploaded properly.
  19. Ownership of the underlying intellectual property of the video remains with the entrant, with the following exceptions.
    1. Entrants grant Automobile Association of AmalJyothi(AAA) and Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally-India the right to use their names, photographs, statements, quotes, testimonials, and video submissions for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes without notification or further compensation.
    2. Entrants also grant Automobile Association of AmalJyothi(AAA) and Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally-India the right to use, reproduce, reprint, distribute, perform, and/or display the entrant’s video without further compensation or notification to the entrant.
    3. Automobile Association of AmalJyothi(AAA) and Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally-India maintains the right to reproduce, reprint, distribute, perform, display, or exhibit the video for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes on their website, at conferences, or at any other venues.
  20. By accepting the prizes, winners agree to hold Automobile Association of AmalJyothi(AAA) and Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally-India and all employees harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of such prizes. Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused from participation in the contest or use/redemption of any prize.
  21. Entrants agree to be bound by the official contest rules and decisions of the judges.
  22. Registration fees once paid will not be given back, unless the whole program is cancelled from organizers end.
  23. Entrants should follow Covid-19 protocol throughout the competition. Any violation in the protocol will lead to disqualification of the entry.
